MENTORING AND INSPIRING WOMEN IN RADIO (MIW) ANNOUNCES ‘BEHIND THE MIC’ MENTEE

DALLAS, TX (September 26, 2024): Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio, Inc. (MIW), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of female leadership in radio broadcasting, proudly announces Jenelle Vannoy, Afternoon Drive Host on KOBQ 93.3 in Albuquerque for Cumulus Media as the 2024 ‘Behind The Mic’ mentee.

The ‘Behind The Mic Mentorship’ program is a year-long experience exclusively for female personalities from any U.S. based music format that have been in an on-air position for at least 3-5 years in local or national radio programming and have demonstrated a desire to grow their on-air career. The selected mentee receives personalized conversations and advice from a wide range of industry professionals Additionally, the program affords the mentee the chance to attend Radio Show 2025 this April in Las Vegas, the premier event for the audio community.

Jenelle Vannoy, a dynamic force in the media industry, currently hosts the afternoon show on KOBQ 93.3 FM in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Originally from Winston-Salem, NC, she holds a degree in Journalism from NC A&T State University and a degree in Film/Video & Cinema from UNLV in 2013. Jenelle began her career at iHeartMedia in Las Vegas before joining Radio One, where she shaped digital content for three Charlotte-based stations, leaving a significant impact on Urban broadcasting. A skilled multimedia professional, Jenelle has collaborated with notable names such as VH1's Dutchess Lattimore and R&B artist Sunshine Anderson. Her expertise has also been featured on MSNBC and Very Local's "Finding Adventure." Outside of her professional life, Jenelle enjoys exploring wineries, keeping up with the latest in television, and engaging her audience on TikTok.
