NAPLES, FL (September 14, 2016) - Join the Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio (MIW) Group and Westwood One's "America's Morning Show" Host Kelly Ford in a candid conversation with recording artist, songwriter and television star Kellie Pickler about the unique opportunities and challenges women face when pursuing and achieving success in the music industry. This lively session takes place Wednesday, September 21 at during the 2016 Radio Show. Held in Nashville September 21 – 23, the 2016 Radio Show is jointly produced by the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB).
Albemarle, N.C. native, recording artist, songwriter and television star Kellie Pickler gained fame at age 19 as a contestant on American Idol's fifth season. She built her career with19 Recordings/BNA Records releasing her debut album Small Town Girl in 2006, self-titled sophomore album in 2008 and the award-winning 100 Proof in 2011. With hits such as "Red High Heels" and "Best Days of Your Life" and a third album that was named Country Album of The Year by Rolling Stone and included on Best of 2012 lists by Washington Post, Rhapsody, AOL's The Boot and more, Pickler established herself as not only a powerful vocalist but also a talented songwriter.
In 2013, Pickler began showing the world she had even more talents to share. In spring of 2013, she partnered with dance coach Derek Hough and won the Mirror Ball Trophy on Dancing with the Stars. That same year, Kellie released her fourth album, The Woman I Am, with her new label Black River Entertainment. In 2014 she voiced lead character, a sweet potato named Mirabelle, in the Veggie Tales animated movie "Beauty and the Beet" and in 2015 launched her home goods line, Selma Drye by Kellie Pickler, in cooperation with the Opry Stores. Kellie’s CMT docu-comedy series I Love Kellie Pickler, co-staring her husband, songwriter/producer Kyle Jacobs, also debuted in 2015 propelling the network to its highest premiere with adults since 2012 and women since 2008. This year, Kellie returned twice to American Idol, mentoring two of the top 24 finalists and performing on the series’ finale. On Aug. 25, 2016, fans welcomed back the second season of Pickler’s hit television series.
Joining Kellie Pickler, and serving as host for the MIW Group’s session, is award winning radio personality Kelly Ford of Westwood One’s nationally syndicated "America's Morning Show." Upon its launch in 2013, Ford was the first live voice ever heard on NASH FM 94-7, the first NASH station in the United States. Prior to arriving in New York City for NASH FM, Kelly woke up country listeners for 20 years in Denver. Along her country radio journey, Kelly Ford has won three CMA's, an ACM, a Marconi and most recently a Gracie Award.
