Formed from an alliance with Marketron in 2016, the MIW Rising Star is named in honor and memory of the late Renée Roth, Marketron’s long-time Vice President of International Sales. Now it its third year, it is awarded to the top scoring scholarship applicant from the annual program and includes a scholarship to attend the Radio Show produced by the RAB and NAB.
The Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB), Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI), and the MIW Group present “Rising Through the Ranks” each summer. Karalee is an active community member serving on local boards including the Decatur Rotary Club and the Mt. Zion Chamber of Commerce.
MIW Group spokeswoman Denyse Mesnik comments, “We are grateful to Marketron for their generous support, and so very proud of Karalee. She has demonstrated her abilities to both her company and, through her application to Rising Through the Ranks, to the organizations that host this unique leadership program. Each of the accomplished ladies in this year’s class earned their seat in the room; however, Karalee walked out with bragging rights as the 2018 MIW Rising Star. Congratulations, Karalee!”
“What an honor it is to be embraced and recognized by an incredibly influential tribe of women,” said Karelee Misner. “I could not be more proud and humbled to be among them.”
“We are thrilled to support Karalee and the Rising Through the Ranks program as mentorship is key to our future success as an industry. Marketron established this scholarship in memory of our colleague Renée Roth who believed in mentoring and actively worked to help young women achieve and succeed in media. Karalee is an exceptional young woman with a history of making the best of everything she is given, and she works for a company led by an exceptional role model, Beth Neuhoff. We congratulate Karalee on earning this award and Neuhoff Media for providing a culture for women to thrive and shoot for the stars in their careers!” said Deborah Esayian, Senior Vice-President at Marketron Broadcast Solutions.
